Camp Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan
Troop 28 had a successful week at Camp Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan in Wisconsin. Four Scouts attended, earning a total of 12 merit badges.
All four Scouts earned the Small-Boat Sailing and Motorboating merit badges, and for Wilderness Survival the group spent a night alone in the woods with only ponchos, flashlights and five damp matches.
One Scout earned the camp’s Ironman award: the tiring combination of a survival overnight, an early morning bird hike and a mile swim in Lake Killian.
Two Scouts were elected to the Order of the Arrow, and were called out at the week three OA campfire.
The Troop also made stops to and from camp for A&W burgers and root beer floats.
